This is Gyeonghungak Hall, situated behind Daejojeon Hall. It used to be a two-story building, but was burnt down during the fire on Daejojeon in 1917. It was later reconstructed as a single-story building, and the second floor does not exist anymore. Inside Gyeonghungak, Joilseongwando - a painting showing four cranes flying over the sea, and Samseonggwanpado - a painting telling a story of three gods bragging their age, are hung. Both are Korean National Treasures. There is a well in the front yard of Gyeonghungak. There were in fact several wells that provided clear water around the palace; digging wells while constructing palaces was required, as they were vital for drinking and making food. But this well behind Daejojeon Hall was so pure because the queen herself managed it.
