Originally built as an annex to Jeongjeon Hall (Main Hall), Yeongnyeongjeon Hall (Hall of Eternal Peace) is used to enshrine the ancestral tablets of Joseon kings, their queen consorts and distant royal ancestors who do not have their own shrine room in Jeongjeon Hall. It is smaller than Jeongjeon Hall but has the same structure and function.
